After a busy summer, Burnchurch are looking forward to playing in Cleere’s in their native Kilkenny.
The young band of 2 brothers and 2 sisters have enjoyed recent recognition with the Katie Taylor pre fight soundtrack, ‘ringwalk’ reaching a global audience of 200 million – while here at home their original adaptation of Skylar Grey’s song, ‘Coming Home’, enjoyed great success as the county’s official hurling song. They ended the summer on a high note with a lively set at Electric Picnic.
They write their own songs, which will feature on their new album, coming out in the Spring. This album – with the input of renowned producer Leo Pearson in Thomastown – promises to present a new sound in Irish music, with a mix of trad and pop/rock genres, strong vocal harmonies and intricate instrumental work.
This gig is one of several pre-album concerts. Many of the tracks featuring will be performed on the night, as will their new Christmas song, ‘Way Home’, which they hope to record live.
